How to do downdog for beginners. This is a downward facing dog yoga class where you will learn 2 downdog modifications for beginners.
The downward facing dog yoga pose is a great posture to help build strength and flexibility within the entire body and is often refereed to as a foundation posture.
Downward facing dog is mostly used in yoga flow classes and is also a pose used to transition. It's known as a resting poster and an inversion as the heart rests above the head.
The down dog pose also knows as adho mukha svanasana in sanskrit, can be difficult for beginners and those who are less flexible and have very little strength within the upper body.
We will be utilizing 2 yoga blocks in one of the modifications so be sure to have 2 of those near by.
